Huawei, one of my favourite Chinese manufacturers, is known more for their telecommunications equipment, but by the early next year, they plan to launch their lineup of Android phones and tablets in Pakistan.
This won’t be Huawei’s very first Android products in Pakistan. We have already seen the Zong IDEOS (and Ufone’s as well), but they were actually manufactured by Huawei and sold in Pakistan with the carrier’s branding. Huawei IDEOS X5 and X7 were also later launched by Ufone as budget smartphones.
We are soon going to see all of Huawei’s high-end offerings in the early 2012 i.e Huawei Honor, Huawei MediaPad etc. with their own branding, own name. From what we know, Huawei is going to launch smartphones and tablets at almost half the price of what Samsung and HTC has to offer with the same specifications range.
Soon everyone will be able to afford a ‘smartphone’. How? Huawei is also expected to drop the price of Huawei IDEOS to around Rs. 5,000 – 6,000 from Rs. 11,000.
Excited? At least, we are! Looks like a very interesting year ahead!
And with this… Happy New Year 2012 everyone!
Gooood to know.
